Are you taking over or helping to run your Group's Web Site?
If you taking over a web site that is hosted by Ramblers-Webs, or going to help run a site then there are a number of things you should do.
- Register on Ramblers-Webs - this allows us to keep track of who is involved with each each site.
- The account gives you access to support and "How to" information, in particular you should look at the information/documents in the How to page and the Forum
- Subscribe to our news letter to hear about important changes and service issues https://groups.io/g/RamblersWebsNews
This allows us to get in touch with you if there are system issues or changes that you should be aware of. - Once you have registered log on to Ramblers-Webs
- Discuss with the previous web master if you need access to the Hosting Control Panel. If you do please raise a support issue for us to set up your own personal account.
- If you are using Joomla look for the Joomla Introduction document, this is in the How To pages
- Ask the current web master to set up a user account, for you, on your Joomla web site. The user account should be set to Super User access level. There is a How to article that describes how to do this.
It is recommended that a new web master works along side the current webmaster until both are happy for the new person to take over.
If you are the current Web Master
Please can we ask you to do the following
Pass on information to the new web master

- Take the new person through the web site and explain how it is set up and maintained
- If you are using Joomla then use the User Manager to set up an account for the new web master, set them to Super User and pass on these details
If you have an account so you can log on to the Hosting Control Panel and no longer require this access then let us know so we can delete your account
By default you will retain an account on Ramblers-webs.org.uk. You are welcome to keep this account but we can delete it for you if you want.
