The forum categories look right to me - to subdivide further makes it harder to find things. If the level of traffic increases significantly we could always subdivide the Joomla categories into "core" and "extensions" or similar at a later date.
A very pedantic point - in the description of the "Suggestions" category "a like" should read "alike".
Do you think there's merit in having a category for slightly off-topic discussion? In our group forum we have such a category called "Ramblings".
