Our Area runs 7 coaches per month in addition to our "drive by car" programme. The sytem for booking onto the coach is currently by phone, text, email or word of mouth. It's complicated for the single person receiving the bookings to keep track and errors are commonplace. One of our bookers will be retiring soon and so we have an opportunity to develop and on-line booking system through our website. This would have the advantage of having a single list of reservations that we could make visible to all so that people could see that they were booked on. I know that many other groups also run coaches and I wondered if any are now using an online booking system?
Our website is written using php and so writing a system to do this should not be too difficult. However it would be useful to know, from someone who has already done this, what the likely pit falls would be.
