I have received this message today when I logged:

We recommend planning to upgrade to a newer PHP version before it reaches end of support on 2018-09-03. Joomla will be faster and more secure if you upgrade to a newer PHP version (PHP 7.x is recommended). Please contact your host for upgrade instructions.
Are there any plans to upgrade PHP as I notice on stackcp there is an option to upgrade to 7.1.or 7.2, but only for the whole site in my case both test and prod. I seem to remember is was possible to change on "test" only.
