I’ve just seen and email from our area secretary who has recently been in contact with Ramblers asking about copyright on OS maps. She has been told that we are free to use OS maps and that all that needs to be done is to include an acknowledgement on the map including the Ramblers license number and also to annually report the number of views and download.
Our web site makes extensive use of the ‘display map of gpx route’ and ‘display gpx files from a folder’ and I notice that these include an OS acknowledgement without reference to a license number and I wasn’t aware of any requirement to record views or downloads. Our use has been registered with Ramblers so I’m unclear of the position here.
Can anyone clarify this, they subject to different license arrangements?
