I had a few people report that the site was down/slow/not working quite right earlier this evening.
I have a number of lines like this in my log files between 19:16 and 19:33:
[Mon Sep 23 19:27:30 2013] [notice] [client mod_overload: Overloaded, 1 minute load average, current load: 114, max load allowed: 90
Mod_overload seems to be an apache module that starts dropping requests if the server is overloaded - but that's about the only documentation on it that I can find!
According to my access logs there wasn't much going on on my site at that time - looks like a couple of people browsing the home page mostly - so I don't think it's likely that my site was causing the overload.
Is there a known issue that sometimes the servers get a bit busy with other people's sites and stop serving yours? If not, is that something you could raise with the hosting provider, please?
