Article, how is an Image Aligned to the centre was created by Alan Cook
I have written a new article, using JCE Editor, and after the first text paragraph, which was pasted in, I attempted to insert an image, aligned centre, as follows:
1. At end of last text line, press return, to goto next line
2. Click on Align Center (top row, button 10) and cursor goes to middle of line
3. Click on Insert/Edit Image (last row, button 15), and in Image Manager,
a. Image Tab, select an image and set alignment to centre
b. Advanced Tab, complete Title and in Classes type Caption
c. Click Update.
4. The image is centralised, see screenshot 1) in attached so then publish/save the article
When I tested this, with View Site, the image is left justified, see screenshot 2 in attached.
I have tried this many times, and when the response time is a bit slow, as a refresh reassembles the website page I have seen the image start in the centre and then move to the left.
In the Article Editor I have tried using the Image button below the input box instead of Insert/Edit Image, but have not been able to get a better result
In the Global Configuration for Articles, I see there are 2 parameters for Image Float on the Editing Layout Tab, but the drop down list is None, Left and Right only. It is set to None
In Joomla 2.5, using Tiny Mice Extended Editor, I was able to align the photos in the middle of the screen. (The other articles in the Category ‘Reports’ have all come from the 2.5 site by export/import, and most images lose the Align Center setting and change to Align Left – again the move from the centre to the left is often observed)
