“cannot decode raw data” error with PHP7 and Joomla 3.7 was created by Adrian West-Samuel
I recently started to get a 'Safari canʼt open the page' error (Mac OS) when first navigating to our website, which could be resolved if the page was reloaded.
But when I tried logging in to the website via the frontend the error returned and would not clear. This seems to have started since recent upgrades to PHP (v 7) and Joomla (v 3.7), and the installation of JCH Optimise.

Unable to easily revert Joomla to previous version (3.6.5). But disabling JCH Optimise did not resolve the issue.
However, reverting to PHP 5.6 has stopped the error. So not sure if PHP 7 alone, or a combination of PHP 7 with Joomla 3.7, or those two with the browser I'm using.

Has anyone else noticed any issues since upgrading? Or is anyone using that combination on a different operating system without any problem?
